Vanessa Wilkins has over 20 years of experience in global education, nonprofit leadership, and corporate community impact. She is currently working on a B-Corp start-up in the education space and advising mission-driven clients of Partners in Scale. Most recently, Vanessa (re)launched the Nike School Innovation Fund, creating and implementing a strategy to engage Nike executives in local schools and providing $5M in funding to train over 2,000 teachers in schools serving 57% of the state’s high school population, and managed Nike’s national education partnerships as the North America Community Impact Director. In addition, Vanessa serves on the National board of Friends of the Children, a long-term mentoring program.
As co-founder of Partners in Scale and an independent consultant, Vanessa provided organizational development and strategy consulting to organizations predominantly working in global development and education. Prior to Partners in Scale, Vanessa served as Managing Director for Friends of the Children, and VP for Worldwide Human Resources at EF Education where she was recruited by the CEO to create a recruitment and professional development team after managing a high school cultural exchange program. She also worked in Venezuela for Empresas Mendoza and managed the liquidation of their NYC based bank, Venambank. Vanessa received a BS from Boston University and an MBA from Harvard.
